Loft Extension in Polegate
For this project in Polegate, the team at Image Carpentry & Building completed a full loft extension, transforming unused roof space into a functional and valuable living area.
The work involved structural carpentry and roof alterations to extend the existing loft space and create a new upper-level room.

East Dean Project
For this project in East Dean, we completed the structural carpentry phase of a residential extension.
The works involved constructing the timber framework required to support the new structure and integrate it with the existing property.

Raised Flooring Installation – Commercial Storage Area
For this project, we constructed a large raised timber floor platform within an industrial storage facility.
The works included:
Supplying and installing structural timber floor framing
Laying heavy-duty sheet flooring panels
Installing metal plate fixings and reinforcement points
Creating a level and durable raised floor system
Ensuring the structure was suitable for heavy storage and shelving systems
mezzanine floor
For this project, Image Carpentry & Building constructed a custom mezzanine floor system to maximise usable space within the building.
The installation involved creating a strong structural platform designed to support additional storage and working space above the existing floor level.
The works included:
Structural timber framing for the mezzanine platform
Installation of floor joists and load-bearing supports
Laying heavy-duty sheet flooring panels
Ensuring the structure was level, secure and capable of supporting a significant load
Mezzanine floors are an excellent solution for increasing usable floor space without extending the building footprint, making them ideal for workshops, storage areas and commercial environments.
Traditional New Build House
This project involved constructing a 3-bedroom house in a traditional style as part of a new residential development. The work focused on installing the main structure, including joisting and a cut-and-pitched roof, ready for the next stages of the build.
The project included:
Installation of structural timber framing
Construction of traditional joisting and a cut and pitch roof
Formation of the main building structure
Preparation for roofing, insulation and external finishes
At this stage, the framework of the property is fully formed, providing the structural foundation for the remainder of the build.
Saltdean Property Renovation
This project involved the renovation and structural improvement of a residential property in Saltdean, East Sussex.
The work focused on upgrading the interior layout and structural elements of the property to create a more modern, functional living space while preparing the building for the next stages of finishing.
The project included:
Structural carpentry and framing work
Internal alterations and preparation for refurbishment
Installation of new structural elements where required
Preparation for plastering, flooring and finishing trades
This stage of the project focused on creating a solid structural foundation for the full renovation, ensuring the property was ready for the final stages of the refurbishment.
Kitchen Renovation
This project involved a full kitchen renovation, transforming a dated and cluttered space into a clean, modern and highly functional kitchen.
The work included:
Removal of the existing kitchen units and preparation of the space
Installation of new modern cabinetry and integrated appliances
New worktops and splashback installation
Installation of a contemporary extractor system
Careful integration of the new kitchen around the existing exposed structural beams, preserving the character of the property
The result is a bright, modern kitchen that balances contemporary design with the original character of the home.

Commercial Office Fit-Out – East Sussex
Image Carpentry & Building completed this commercial interior fit-out, transforming the space into a modern office and reception area.
